4.4 million euros in grants to 167 manufacturing businesses – most of them are first time beneficiaries!

Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti and the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mrs. Rozeta Hajdari, participated in the ceremony of signing agreements with 167 beneficiary businesses of the grant scheme for the purchase of production and processing machinery, announced by the Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, with a value of 4,445,222.00 euros.

This investment marks a new record, with concrete and tangible results compared to the previous maximum support, where from 500 thousand euros, which was the maximum value of this support scheme until 2021, today it has reached a record figure of over 4.4 million euros. This result with 167 beneficiary businesses of the grant scheme for the purchase of machinery includes 90 businesses benefiting for the first time.

Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the importance of these agreements for direct support with grants to micro, small and medium enterprises, emphasizing the government's dedication and commitment to support the manufacturing industry, to unfold its potential to contribute more effectively to the overall development of the country.

n her speech, Minister Hajdari emphasized that this program is an important step for empowering local businesses and improving their technological capacities, making them more competitive in foreign markets. She also emphasized also the capital investments in the construction of industrial and technological parks and business incubators in the service of businesses in the municipalities and in academia, and pledged continued support for micro, small and medium start-up enterprises, which are the main driver of sustainable economic development in our country.

This direct financial support will help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises of the 7 priority sub-sectors of the manufacturing industry to expand their industrial production, create more jobs, thus contributing to export growth and improving trade balance.
