Deputy Minister Mehmeti: The “SME Policy Index 2026” report confirms Kosovo's progress in supporting businesses and innovation

Deputy Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Jeton Mehmeti, participated in the launch of the report "SME Policy Index 2026: Western Balkans and Türkiye", where the findings on the development of policies for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Western Balkan countries and Turkey were presented.

During the presentation of the report, the progress of the Republic of Kosovo in strengthening the business ecosystem, harmonizing policies with European standards, and creating more favourable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship and innovation was assessed.

The report highlights Kosovo's progress in designing and implementing policies for small and medium-sized enterprises, highlighting institutional commitment to improving the business climate, promoting innovation and digital transformation, supporting the SME sector, strengthening the competitiveness of the private sector, and continuous alignment with European Union and OECD standards.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Mehmeti emphasized that the findings and recommendations of the report will serve as a guide for future reforms, aiming at further advancing supportive policies for businesses and creating a more competitive and favourable environment for the country's economic development.
