The number of businesses registered in this industry in 2013 was 2,089: 1,938 micro, 141 small , 9 mid-sized and 1 large-sized company.

KAS official data show the number of local and foreign visitors and their overnight stays for the period 2008-2012. By 2012, the number of visitors increased by 18.86% compared to 2011, while the number of overnight stays during the same period increased by 16.20% (Figure 9). An increase has also been noted in the number of foreign visitors (60.76%), as well as in their overnight stays (38.7%).
