KIESA services

The Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA)  

Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) is the Kosovar state agency mandated to promote and support investments, exports, tourism, SMEs, and economic zones in the Republic of Kosovo.

Investment Promotion Sector:

Pre-investment service, includes services offered to a foreign investors before investment process has made in Kosovo, by offering services as:

  • Assistance and advice on how to start a new business in Kosovo;
  • Assistance in business registration procedures;
  • Assistance during the application process for obtaining necessary permit and license for your business;   
  • Organize meetings with local and central institutions, as well as with local and foreign businesses;
  • Finding an ideal location for establishing your business.

Investment phase, incudes the investment process when to the company is offered the following services:

  • Assistance on finding real-estate for setting your business; 
  • Assist in application and placement of your business into economic zones and business incubators;
  • Provide information on specific sectors, different projects and potential partners, with whom you can collaborate.

After care services, includes the company that has already invested in Kosovo, but still need additional services. After care service is a support provided by KIESA in this regard. In this phase invested foreign company can use the following services:

  • After care service (care offered to investors after the investment has made).
  • Facilitate meeting organization and participation in B2B meetings and conferences;
  • Inform you about new changes in laws, taxes and other additional information.

Export Promotion Sector:

In order to create a better services for Kosovar businesses and placing their products abroad, same time increase the export, this sector provides the following services in this direction, such as:  

  • Cooperates with exporting companies, business associations, donor community, and tour operators for coordinating activities related to export promotion sector’s activity;
  • Maintain database for exporting companies;
  • Helps exporting companies to place their goods in international markets;
  • Coordinate inter-institutional issues relating to company export and tour operators promotion;
  • Support the organization of trade fairs at home and abroad;
  • Organizes seminars and study tours meetings to fulfill the requirements of international markets;
  • Cooperate with business associations on developing promotional policies and exporting initiatives.

Sector dealing with projects supporting SMEs:

  • Voucher Consulting  Scheme, is a project that provides consultancy by enabling subsidize in part of consultancy provided to businesses in specific area of interest for enterprises;
  • Public-Private Dialogue through “Small Business Days” activities, is a project that organized conferences in to 7 regions of Kosovo. Aim of these conferences is to be introduced and discussed challenges of private sector, as well as introduction of services and development programs delivered by local and central government.  
  • Top most competitive SME, has to do with recognition of SMEs contribution in improvement of citizen welfare;
  • Internship business, this project enables to newly graduated students two-month internship in private business sector;
  • “Women in Business” trade fair, supporters women in business to promote their products and find new markets;
  • Promotion of young entrepreneurs, aims to stimulate young entrepreneurs, where KIESA supports young generation by awarding them for “The Best business plan” for their start up.
  • Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund, supports small and medium –size enterprises to have easier access to finance in commercial banks by guaranteeing a part of the collateral.

Sector dealing with development of Economic Zones:

  • Inform potential investors on Economic Zone’s primary and secondary legislation;
  • Provides information in regard to legalized EZ physical infrastructure;
  • Receive, review and evaluate applications provided by EZ developers;
  • Cooperates with municipalities of Kosovo on creation and establishing the Economic Zones infrastructure;
  • Promotes Economic Zones through discussions at conferences and meetings;
  • With municipalities cooperate and coordinate the placement of foreign and local investors in to the EZ;
  • Reviews complains received from businesses in regard to Economic Zones and Drenas Business Park.
